She had the proof where she made all the purchases via PayPal and then they wanted her to pay them for getting her account back. I have a friend who lost her account because she purchased some credits on her alternate account a long time ago and they disabled it saying that she did chargebacks. Now, more than 6 months later I see they have finally re-rated the derivable, but if you see the derivations, then you can see lots of GA versions, most of them! However, some are changed, but I did see "ALE" on several GA derivations. Yes you guessed it right - they did nothing, they didn't even respond anymore, they played deaf with me. First of all, how was I supposed to know what that word means in the first place? Secondly, I asked to re-rate the one I derived from, because it has the same "Ale" on the bottle. I filed a ticket, and they said there was "Ale" written on a bottle. I derived a GA juice bar once, and it got re-rated almost a year later. What did IMVU say? Something like "We cannot disable this product because it is selling so good, but you can derive again." and "I'm sorry, we cannot restore your product." WTF? They cannot restore a product, but they're suggesting that you derive THE SAME PRODUCT again?! the base derivable is still in the catalog! They file a ticket. I know some developers who have DERIVED a furniture item with poses, sold a few, and suddenly IMVU disables it, sends a warning, takes the credits! But. Am I the only one sending them messages? I don't think so. I can't reveal the details about stealing asset files, but I can say it's extremely.ridiculously easy and simple! There's an easy solution to this, but they don't want to hear it. It's not that hard to fix this problem, but they're deaf, avoiding this topic at all costs. I have tried to talk to the staff, sent them messages, but all they say is "Send a DMCA for this matter." DUH! Of course I send DMCA's, but I also ASK them to look into this problem in order to solve it! I give them thieves who clearly steal everything, probably using that illegal software. They don't disable thieves within 2 weeks anyway! Thieves also pay for VIP in case they can't find an old "grandfathered" account to buy instead. 2 weeks of credit pend is clearly not enough to make stealing worthless. They would NEVER disable a single thief if they could! So this is the reason why they're so lazy when it comes to dealing with asset thefts.Ĭredit pend? Mandatory VIP for being a creator? Another way to make more money and control credit flow. "Unfortunately", they have to abide DMCA laws, so they're forced to take SOME action against thieves. IMVU don't care whose products as long as they get their profit, which means they don't care if it's a hardworking developer or a lowlife scumbag who is selling a dress or a skin. They don't want to get rid of thieves! They make money when creators sell the products. Well, here's something I've figured out, I've put pieces together. Why don't they fix this theft problem? It is weird, don't you think?

Many of us know that it's easy to steal from other creators, and some of us feel the pain and frustration of being stolen from, over and over again. Currently I don't see any reason to do so. I will not hide any of my products unless I have to. I come online to check out stolen products.

So that means I won't be online almost at all anymore. I have tried to talk to them for so many times, but it's proven useless, just like numerous other creators told me.Īnd I still don't chat, because I need to feel productive and I enjoy being creative more than anything else online. I resumed creating (half time only) because I was able to get some of this resolved, and they have improved. It would be different if IMVU cared about it. No more products for IMVU from me (as of Jan/12/ 2013), because I'm tired of seeing my new skins flying into thieves' catalogs all the time. I'm sorry to tell you this, but I finally decided to stop creating.
